CFA

To promote CFE(Carbon Free Eenergy), the CFA will plan to host a Round Table Meeting at COP-28(The 28st The Conference of the Parties to the Convention, Dubai, Arab Emirates) to raise the need for policy and institutional cooperation activities, demonstrate international cooperation activities and technological leadership worldwide, and will participate in the Leader's Meeting to express Korea's strong dedication to international cooperation activities.

The CFA with the korea government will plan to raise the need for the promotion of CFE(Carbon Free Energy) in the 2023 APEC(Asia-Pacific Cooperation) Summit and propose the CFE initiative to APEC member countries.

The CFA(Carbon Free Alliance), a government-business joint organization, was launched with the opening remarks of Chairman Dr. Hoesung Lee and Korea Prime Minister to promote the use and supply of CFE(Carbon Free Energy) on 12th Oct. 2023. The CFA will plan to participate in the formation and operation of an international joint working group to prepare a "CFE Program" that includes certification standards, membership requirements, and technical goals in cooperation with the government.

The CFA(Carbon Free Alliance) held its founding meeting at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI) in Seoul on 12th Oct. 2023, and appointed Dr. Hoesung Lee, who served as the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for eight years, as the first chairman, to officially begin its activities. The CFA(Carbon Free Alliance) was established by 20 companies, organizations, and organizations, including Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor, with the purpose of changing traditional renewable energy to utilizing all Carbon Free sources of energy, such as nuclear power, clean hydrogen, and CCUS(carbon capture, utilization, and storage).

Korea President proposed the formation of an "Open Platform" called CFA(Carbon Free Alliance) at the 77th UN General Assembly on 20th Sep. 2023, as a realistic alternative to accelerate the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. Korea President also announced that he would promote international joint research on CFE(Carbon Free Energy) to share new ideas and technologies and provide benefits to countries vulnerable to climate crisis.

The CFE Forum, which was formed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy(MOTIE) and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI), aims to expand the use of Carbon Free Energy and spread it internationally. The CFE Forum includes major domestic energy demand companies, public power generation companies, private energy companies, and many experts. In the future, The CFE Forum will play a role in establishing a Carbon Free Energy certification system and actively participating in the formation of international standards.
